Abstract

This study aims to determine the comparison of students' science process skills using the Project Based Learning model and the Problem Based Learning model on the excretory system material of SMPN 2 Percut Sei Tuan and to determine the comparison of learning outcomes using the Project Based Learning model and the Problem Based Learning model on the excretory system material of SMPN 2 Percut Sei Tuan. The population of the study was students of class VIII of SMPN 2 Percut Sei Tuan. The sample of the study was students of class VIII-1 and VIII- 5 with a purposive sampling technique. This study is an experimental study with a Pretest-Postest Non- Equivalent Control Group Design. Data were collected using cognitive tests of learning outcomes and observation sheets of Students' Science Process Skills. Data were analyzed using a t-test at a significance level of 0.05. Based on the data analysis, it was obtained that tcount > ttable, namely 4.24 > 2.00. Thus, the criteria for tcount > ttable are met. This shows that ????0 is rejected, ???????? is accepted, meaning that there is a significant comparison of students' science process skills taught using the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model is higher than those taught using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on the excretory system material at SMPN 2 Percut Sei Tuan. While tcount > ttable, namely 6.68 > 2.00 so that ???????? is accepted, ????0 is rejected, meaning that there is a significant comparison of learning outcomes taught using the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model is higher than those taught using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on the excretory system material at SMPN 2 Percut Sei Tuan.
