ANALISIS KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH BIOLOGI SISWA KELAS XI MIPA SMA NEGERI 14 MEDAN TAHUN AJARAN 2021/2022 PADA MATERI NARKOTIKA, PSIKOTROPIKA, DAN ZAT ADIKTIF

This study aims to determine the level of biological problem solving ability of students in class XI MIPA SMA Negeri 14 Medan on narcotics, psychotropic and addictive substances. The problem-solving ability step used as an indicator in this study is Polya's problem-solving ability step, namely understanding the problem, planning problem-solving solutions, implementing problem-solving solutions, and re-examining the solutions obtained. This research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach carried out from February to May 2022 at SMA Negeri 14 Medan. The population of this study were students of class XI MIPA which consisted of 7 classes of 275 students with a sample of 70 students. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling. The instrument of this research is a matter of discourse that presents problems with essay questions to measure problem solving abilities. The results showed that the biology problem solving ability of students in class XI MIPA at SMA Negeri 14 Medan was classified as lacking with a percentage value of 38,73%. The results of each problem- solving step are the step to understand the problem with a percentage value of 44.8% including the sufficient category, the step to plan a problem-solving solution with a percentage value of 47% in the sufficient category, the step to implement the problem-solving solution a percentage value of 33.65% with the less category, and the step of re-examining the solution obtained a percentage value of 29.5% with the less category.
