Abstract

Corn is a plant that has many benefits, one of which can be used as a raw material for the animal feed industry. Increased production must be done so that the need for raw materials can be met. Therefore, action must be taken to prevent inhibition of maize production, including stem borer pests. So far, farmers have controlled corn stem borer pests using chemical pesticides, which are done so that biocontrol can work. This activity aims to identify insect pests that are detrimental to corn plants so that the results can be used as a reference for determining control strategies, using explorative descriptive methods. The results of this study are identification studies that have been carried out, there are 4 orders, 10 families and 10 species of insects with a population of 146 insects that have been found. the highest percentage is found in the carnivorous group which acts as a parasite. The high population of pests and parasites is closely related to the availability of host plants, plant age and climate.
