Abstract

Abstract Science learning in elementary schools (SD) is carried out with simple investigations and not memorizing science concepts, so that it can hone thinking skills and foster students' scientific attitudes. This research aims to determine the influence of the scientific approach on students' critical thinking skills in science learning in fifth grade elementary school. Amaliah. The research method used is an experimental method, a quasi-experimental type of research using a posttest-only control group design. Statistical hypothesis testing uses the t test. Research data was obtained using a reasoned multiple choices test from posttest scores with the results of obtaining an average posttest score for the experimental class of 78.40 and posttest for the control class of 69.60. Results of independent sample t-test Sig test data analysis. 2 tailed results obtained Sig. 0.038 < 0.05 then the decision H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. So it can be concluded that providing scientific approach treatment has an effect on students' critical thinking skills in science learning in class V of SD Amaliah.
