Abstract

The Culturally Responsive Teaching Approach through the Problem Based Learning Model is a culture-based approach that is linked to the problem-based learning model. This research aims to: (1) determine the effect of the CRT approach through the PBL learning model on student collaboration; (2) determine the effect of the CRT approach through the PBL learning model on students' critical thinking. This research is quasi-experimental, namely with a non-equivalent control group. The instruments used in this research are syntax implementation observation sheets, collaboration observation sheets and tests that have been validated first and data analysis using prerequisite tests and hypothesis tests. Based on research data, the sig. The Mann-Whitney hypothesis test from the collaboration observation sheet obtained a value of 0.000 and a sig level. The independent sample t test from the posttest data obtained a sig value. 0,000. Thus it can be concluded: (1) there is an influence of Culturally Responsive Teaching through the Problem Based Learning Model on the Collaboration of Class VII Students at SMPN 208 Jakarta on the material of classification of living things. (2) there is an influence of Culturally Responsive Teaching through the Problem Based Learning Model on the Critical Thinking of Class VII students at SMPN 208 Jakarta on the material on the classification of living things.
