Abstract

This study aims to identify the frequency of dietary habits, examined through food menus, meal times, and portion sizes among students at MAS Al Ishlah Al Aziziyah. This research is a quantitative study utilizing a descriptive correlational method. Sampling was conducted using a simple random sampling technique. The instruments utilized in this research consisted of interviews and questionnaires. The results indicated that 22 respondents (68.8%) with poor dietary habits experienced gastritis, and 3 respondents (37.5%) with good dietary habits experienced gastritis. Meanwhile, 10 respondents (31.2%) with poor dietary habits did not experience gastritis, and 5 respondents (62.5%) with good dietary habits did not experience gastritis. The statistical test results yielded a p value of 0.102 > α = 0.05, signifying that there is no relationship between dietary habits and the incidence of gastritis at MAS Al Ishlah Al Aziziyah. Thus, it can be concluded that good dietary habits in students do not necessarily prevent gastritis, and conversely, poor dietary habits do not inevitably induce gastritis. This implies that dietary habits are not invariably the primary factor in gastritis.
