Albinism is a rare genetic disorder caused by treatment of the melanin-producing gene, which affects skin, hair, and eye color. This study aims to describe the experiences of individuals with albinism in understanding their physical condition, the responses of family and society, and the inheritance patterns within the family. The approach used was a qualitative descriptive approach with a phenomenological method through in-depth interviews with one subject with albinism. The results showed that the respondents had good self-acceptance, were supported by their families, and faced challenges such as sensitivity to light. Family history showed an autosomal recessive inheritance pattern, where the condition was inherited from the mother with albinism. These findings confirm that albinism is not a contagious disease, but rather a genetic disorder that requires education and social support.
