ANALISIS KEBUTUHAN TERHADAP PENGEMBANGAN DIGITAL POCKET BOOK ETNOPANGAN BERBASIS KEARIFAN LOKAL PADA MATERI KEANEKARAGAMAN HAYATI

Indonesia is known as one of the world's megabiodiversity countries, boasting abundant biodiversity, including flora, fauna, and ecosystems. However, this biodiversity faces various threats, ranging from environmental degradation to the loss of local knowledge, which plays a crucial role in maintaining the sustainability of natural resources. In the context of biology education, learning about biodiversity still tends to be theoretical and lacks contextualization, making it difficult for students to connect scientific concepts with local potential. This study aims to analyze the need for developing a digital pocketbook on local wisdom-based ethno-food on biodiversity as an innovative, contextual and engaging teaching material for students. The method used was a descriptive needs analysis by distributing questionnaires to 10th-grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Stabat. The analysis showed that most students had difficulty understanding the concept of biodiversity solely through textbooks and showed a high interest in digital-based teaching materials that presented real-world examples from their surroundings, such as Langkat ethno-food, halua sweets, shrimp paste, and salted fish. Students also assessed that interactive digital learning media connected to local culture can increase motivation and understanding of the material. Therefore, the results of this study emphasize the importance of developing digital pocket books based on local wisdom as an alternative biology learning medium that supports the implementation of the Deep Learning Curriculum with an Outcome-Based Education (OBE) approach.
