Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of ethanol extract of Bidens pilosa L leaf on the relative weight of lung organs of rats induced with Akkohol at a dose of 30%. 25 mice were used and divided into five groups, namely K-, K+, P1, P2, and P3. K- the control group was given a CMC of 0.5%. K+ is the control group is given 30% alcohol as much as 10 ml/KgBB. P1, P2 & P3 are the control group is given 30% alcohol as much as 10 ml/KgBB and lump leaf ethanol extract (EEDK) with different doses of 250,500, and 750mg/KgBB. Alcohol induction is performed orally using a gastric sonde. The treatment was carried out for 43 days. During the study, all mice were fed and drunk ad libitum. On the 44th day, the mice were sacrificed and dissected to obtain lung organs and then weighed using the SF-400C brand analytical balance with an accuracy of 0.1 grams. The data obtained was analyzed by the One Way Anova test. The results showed that EEDK showed protective activity by decreasing the relative weight of lung organs which increased due to alcohol induction insignificantly (p≥0.05).
