Abstrak

This research aims to determine: (1) the influence of the problem-based learning model on learning outcomes in biodiversity material for class X SMA Swasta Kartika I-2 Medan Helvetia; (2) the results obtained from the application of the problem-based learning model to the biology learning outcomes of biodiversity material for class X SMA Swasta Kartika I-2 Medan Helvetia. The method used in this research is the quasi-experimental method. The population in this study was 103 students and the sample in this study was 50 students. The data collection instruments are pretest and posttest questions. Validity uses construct validity. The data analysis techniques used are normality test, homogeneity test and hypothesis test. Data analysis techniques were carried out using SPSS version 27.0. From the data analysis it was found that hypothesis testing was carried out to determine whether or not there was an influence of the problem-based learning model on student learning outcomes regarding biodiversity material at SMA Kartika I-2 Medan which was carried out using a t test with the help of SPSS 27.0 and obtained Tcount > Ttable, namely 10.405 > 1.675 or significance value (2-tailed) < 0.05 which is obtained 0.000 < 0.05, then H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted which says that there is a significant influence after learning using the problem-based learning model on student learning outcomes in diversity material in class X at SMA Kartika I-2 Medan Helvetia is proven to be able to encourage students to participate more actively, think critically and work together in groups. Additionally, they are more motivated and have a deeper understanding of the concepts taught. The evaluation results show that the students' average scores increased, and their understanding of the concept of biodiversity became better.
