Abstrak

This study aims to determine the antibacterial activity of ethanol extracts of old leaves and young leaves of andulpak, determine the concentration of ethanol extracts of andulpak leaves that provide a strong category as antibacterial, and determine the difference in the value of antibacterial activity of ethanol extracts of old leaves with young leaves of andulpak against pathogenic bacteria (Escherichia coli, Salmonella sp. and Bacillus cereus). The antibacterial activity test was carried out by disc diffusion method using concentrations of 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% and 100%. Extraction was carried out by maceration method using Pro Analisis ethanol solvent. Data analysis on the antibacterial activity of ethanol extracts of old leaves and young leaves of andulpak is descriptive quantitative while to determine the difference in the value of antibacterial activity of ethanol extracts of old leaves with young leaves of andulpak using analysis of variance (ANOVA) followed by the Tukey test. The results showed that the extracts of old leaves and young leaves of andulpak have antibacterial activity. Old leaves that show a strong category as antibacterial at concentrations of 20%-100% against E. coli bacteria, 40%-100% against Bacillus cereus bacteria. Young leaves that show a strong category as antibacterial at concentrations of 40%-100% against E. coli, 60%-100% against Salmonella sp, and 20%-100% against Bacillus cereus. The results of the ANOVA test and Tukey's further test showed that there was a significant difference in the antibacterial activity of old leaf extracts with young leaves of andulpak against Salmonella sp. bacteria at concentrations of 60%, 80%, and 100%, but there was no significant difference in the antibacterial activity of old leaf extracts with young leaves of andulpak against Escherichia coli and Bacillus cereus bacteria.
