ANALYSIS OF HIGHER ORDER THINGKING SKILLS ON THE ENDOCRINE SYSTEM OF CLASS XI MIPA STUDENTS AT SMA NEGERI 14 MEDAN

This study discusses the analysis of High Order Thinking Skills Class XI MIPA 3 and 7 students of SMA Negeri 14 Medan on the subject of the endocrine system. This study aims to determine the higher order thinking ability of students as a whole and each indicator of higher order thinking in biology lessons on the material of the endocrine system. This research is a qualitative research with a qualitative descriptive research design that describes students' higher order thinking skills.sampling technique was done by purposive sampling with a sample of 70 people. Data collection techniques were carried out by distributing 10 high-level thinking essay test questions to students. The results of this study, students' higher- order thinking skills are included in the sufficient category with an average score of 55. The students' higher-order thinking skills who are in the very good category are 6 students, the good category is 20 students, the sufficient category is 36 students, the good category is 36 students. less than 4 students and the category of very less amounting to 4 students. The average value of each indicator of higher order thinking skills which consists of 3 levels, namely Analyzing (C4) with an average value of 50.55 including the sufficient category, Evaluating (C5) with an average value of 39.03 including the poor category, and Creating (C6) with an average score of 22.26 is included in the poor category. This research is expected to be a reference for developing students who already have higher-order thinking skills and can overcome students who have low-level thinking skills.
