Ipomoea batatas is a strategic food crop with high economic and nutritional value and broad adaptability to various environmental conditions. This study aims to bibliometrically analyze global scientific publications related to the anatomical structure and physiological adaptations of Ipomoea batatas to identify research trends, a map of scientific collaborations, and dominant topics of study. Data were obtained through a systematic literature search of international scientific databases and registers. A total of 1,666 initial records were identified, which were then filtered, resulting in 349 reports. After a rigorous topic-based selection process, only 10 studies met the eligibility criteria and were included in the final analysis. These results indicate that despite the scientific interest in this topic, the number of publications explicitly addressing the anatomical structure and physiological adaptations of Ipomoea batatas remains very limited. This bibliometric review also revealed that available research is scattered across journals with low citation indexes and minimal cross-national collaboration. This highlights a knowledge gap and the need for further exploration of the morphological and physiological aspects of this plant in the context of climate change and improving food security. This study provides a new direction for researchers in the field of plant physiology and agronomy in developing research based on the adaptation needs of plants to extreme environments.
