Abstrak

his study aims to develop and test the effectiveness of the Substance Movement through Cell Membrane Module to improve student learning outcomes in Biology subjects. This module was designed following the 4D development model, including the stages of define, design, develop, and disseminate. Validation was carried out by two material experts, two learning experts, one design expert, and was assessed by students and biology teachers for the attractiveness aspect. The implementation of the module was carried out on Class XI students of SMA Negeri 17 Medan. Before using the module, students were given a pretest to measure initial understanding, then after learning using the module, a posttest was conducted to assess the achievement of student learning outcomes and problem-based solving abilities (PBL). The research instruments included expert validation sheets, attractiveness questionnaires, and understanding tests based on Problem Based Learning. The results of the study showed that the module consisted of three learning activities beginning with problem orientation to encourage critical thinking. The module was assessed as very feasible by material experts (88.88), learning experts (87.6), design experts (87.5), and was considered very attractive by teachers (92.70) and students (100). The average student learning outcomes of classical completeness were (85.29) and n-gain (79.11) (high category). Students stated that this module helped them understand the material of Substance Movement through Cell Membrane better.
