Abstrak

This study aims to investigate the beliefs, local knowledge, and plant utilization practices associated with the Peusijuek Tradition among the Acehnese people in Darussalam Subdistrict, Aceh Besar Regency, Aceh Province, with the research site situated in Gampong Tungkop. The study employed both qualitative and quantitative research methods. Data collection was executed through semi structured interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. The findings revealed that the Acehnese community in Darussalam Subdistrict continues to utilize 7 plant species classified into 6 families for the Peusijuek Tradition. The most predominantly used family in the Peusijuek tradition is Poaceae, representing a percentage of 0.33%. The plant part or organ most extensively utilized in the tradition is the leaf, accounting for 75%. The most common plant habit employed in the Peusijuek tradition is the herbaceous habit, with a percentage of 1.33%. The most frequently applied preparation method for the Peusijuek tradition involves plucking, washing, and arranging the plants, recorded at a percentage of 3%. Furthermore, the primary application method of Peusijuek consists of dipping the plants and gently patting them on the head, hands, and shoulders of the individual receiving the blessing, accounting for 1.6%.
