Abstrak

This study aimed to determine the intrinsic and extrinsic learning motivation of biology students on Basidiomycota. This research was conducted in the Biology Department, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, State University of Medan. The population was all 122 students of the Biology Study Program, graduating class of 2021, at State University of Medan. A purposive sampling technique was used for the sample, with a quantitative descriptive design. Data collection used a Likert type questionnaire. The results showed that biology students' learning motivation for Basidiomycota was high, with an average percentage of 63%. This was evidenced by the availability of laboratory materials, enthusiasm during the laboratory work, willingness to ask questions about unclear material during the laboratory work, and student attendance in class on fungi. Therefore, it can be concluded that biology students' learning motivation for Basidiomycota is high.
