Biology education in the 21st century faces various challenges and opportunities along with rapid technological developments and shifting learning paradigms. The digital era demands the implementation of innovative learning strategies that integrate conceptual understanding with real-life applications. This study aims to explore various innovative strategies in biology learning, such as project-based learning, problem-based learning, cooperative learning, discovery learning, and inquiry learning, which are relevant to the needs of modern education. Through a literature review approach with qualitative methods, this study examines the effectiveness and relevance of these models in improving 21st-century skills, including critical, creative, collaborative, and communicative thinking skills. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of innovative learning strategies can encourage students to be more active and reflective, and able to connect biological knowledge with global and real-life contexts. In addition, globalization and advances in information technology expand access to learning resources, enabling collaboration across countries and disciplines. However, the implementation of these strategies also faces challenges, such as teacher preparedness, limited resources, and differences in student characteristics. Therefore, biology education in the 21st century needs to be designed holistically by integrating contextual knowledge, skills, and values to be able to prepare an adaptive and competent generation in facing the complexity of global problems.
