Science Literacy, Environmental AwarenessAbstrak
This study aims to analyze the relationship between students' science literacy and environmental awareness in elementary schools. Science literacy refers to students' ability to understand scientific concepts, apply that knowledge in everyday life, and make decisions based on scientific evidence. Meanwhile, environmental awareness reflects students' attitudes and concrete actions in preserving, conserving, and improving the condition of their surrounding environment. The research method used is a library research approach by reviewing various scientific sources such as journals, books, and relevant previous studies. The results of the analysis indicate that science literacy has a positive and significant relationship with environmental awareness. Students who have a high level of science literacy tend to better understand the impact of human behavior on nature, possess ecological awareness, and are able to make environmentally friendly decisions. In addition, factors such as inquiry-based learning models, contextual learning, and Project-Based Learning approaches contribute greatly to improving science literacy while simultaneously fostering students' environmental awareness. Strengthening science literacy in elementary schools can serve as an important foundation in building an environmentally conscious character in students. Therefore, elementary school teachers, particularly prospective PGSD teachers, need to develop learning strategies that integrate scientific concepts with real-world activities that encourage awareness of the surrounding environment.
