ANALISIS MISKONSEPSI SISWA PADA MATERI BIOTEKNOLOGI DI KELAS X SMA NEGERI 1 PERCUT SEI TUAN T.P 2024/2025

This study aims to determine the percentage of student misconceptions on biotechnology material, the biotechnology concept with the highest misconception, and the percentage of factors causing misconceptions at SMA Negeri 1 Percut Sei Tuan. The type of research used is descriptive quantitative. The population in this study was all students of class X at SMA Negeri 1 Percut Sei Tuan for the 2024/2025 Academic Year, consisting of 10 classes with a total of 356 students. The sample used in the study was selected by random sampling with a total of 72 students from 2 classes. The data collection technique was carried out using an instrument in the form of a multiple choice test with the Certainty of Response Index (CRI) confidence level and a questionnaire. The results of the study indicate that students experience misconceptions in the low category with a percentage of 25.45%, do not know the concept in the medium category with a percentage of 36.94%, and know the concept in the medium category with a percentage of 37.58%. Based on the concept, the highest misconception is found in the concept of antibiotic production. The percentage of factors causing misconceptions are the student factor with a percentage of 15.44%, the teacher factor 25.71%, the learning method factor 19.94%, the teaching context factor 17.06%, and the textbook factor 21.83%.
