Abstrak

One important aspect that students must have is the ability to think critically. This research aims to see the effect of the PBL model based on local wisdom on critical thinking skills on biodiversity material. The method used is quasi experimental with Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The population includes all class X students at SMAN 3 Pematangsiantar consisting of 12 classes. The sample was selected using purposive sampling technique. Data collection to measure critical thinking skills used an essay consisting of 10 pretest and posttest questions. The research results were carried out by a t- test with a Sig value. 0.000 < 0.05 indicates the influence of the local wisdom- based PBL model on students' critical thinking skills. The posttest results for each critical thinking indicator in the experimental class were superior to those in the control class.
